An automobile provides comfort to its driver and passengers. It also provides them safety and eliminates the stresses caused by long commuting times. With automobiles, one can go anywhere he wishes without the constraint of routes, unlike in public transportation.

There are different types of automobiles. Each has its own uses, depending on the situation. For example, people in the city may find it comfortable to drive sedans and hatchback car types to easily traverse the narrow roads of the city. Construction companies, on the other hand, need heavy trucks for carrying equipment.

On the other hand, the sports utility vehicle (SUV) is ideal for driving in remote areas. Its size, power, and fuel efficiency make it practical for long trips, family outings, and other functions.

Different varieties of SUVs also come with comfortable cushions which make traveling relaxing to all its passengers.

What are the advantages when you buy Chrysler jeep dodge Ajax Ontario has to offer? Size is one of the main advantages of an SUV. Like many SUVs manufacturers, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep produce big vehicles featuring an interior space that can fit both people and equipment.

When you buy Chrysler Jeep Dodge Pickering has to offer, you entitle yourself to a vehicle with more than enough power to perform. A standard SUV has an average horsepower of 170 and has either a six-cylinder or an eight-cylinder engine. SUVs can tow a few tons, allowing it to haul boats, trailers, and other transportable objects. Its power also allows its user to do long drives without having to rest the engine, unlike sedans and other small vehicles.

Like SUVs, minivans like the Dodge Grand Caravan are also popular for their performance and capabilities, which have similarities with SUVs. As most SUVs and vans have the four-wheel drive mechanism, they are the best options in driving through all kinds of terrain. You don’t have to worry about being trapped in mud holes or not having proper traction in slippery surfaces. The driver can easily control the vehicle. With a combination of strength and comfort, large automobiles are the best options in the market.

The Mini SUV

It’s not “Mini Wheels” – they’re actually the branded Mini Wheels on the SUV that Mini is making ! .. And it’s not going to be a small SUV.

When I first saw this on some sites that I was browsing on, I had to take a double take to make sure that I read it right. Then after I realized I did indeed read it right, I decided to do my own research to determine whether this was some type of rumor that was going on in the automotive industry.

When you first look at the SUV with the Mini Wheels on it, it doesn’t look like an SUV whatsoever. It has a 102.2 – inch wheelbase that’s 5.1 longer than the regular Mini hardtop and at 161.8 inches overall.

Whether the person looking at the vehicle when they get to the dealership is a Mini fan or not, they’ll probably be content when they discover all the features that it comes with and the comfort of the test drive:

1.

Because of the larger frame that was offered on the SUV, the interior room on the thing offered allowed a much larger segment of the potential customer base to try a MINI for the first time .. which I think is exactly what Mini wanted to do.

2. The SUV has the same interior styling as the regular Mini vehicle & Mini Wheels that you’ve seen previously. The only thing that was different is that the new SUV offered five extra inches of leg room for back passengers or extra cargo space behind the back seats – and who doesn’t want extra leg room?

3. The center rails and the doors that are offered on the Countryman are there for unique ambient lighting that pleased the senses of both drivers and passengers. If you have happy passengers, what else do you need? The ride is enjoyable if they’re satisfied.

4. The “original” SUV came with 120-horsepower & a 1.6-liter engine. If you’re the type of person that’s power-hungry when it comes to cars, you have the option of choosing from the 120-horsepower or the 180-horsepower engine. Since the average weight of this SUV is noticeably smaller than the other SUV’s that are in the industry, the power of either engine will satisfy the driver.

Since the SUV has the MacPherson struts in the front and a multilink system in back, the SUV drives pretty stable and also has quick reflexes even though it’s somewhat tall and has a long wheelbase. Of course it’s not going to be as good as Mini’s smaller models that fit anywhere, but it’s still better than “decent”.

If you were to look inside of the Countryman (which you probably will sooner or later), you’re going to find that it has the same design as the smaller minis. If you haven’t seen the inside of a Mini, I’ll just describe it to you – it really isn’t that much: speedometer (about the size of some supermarket produce scales) centered on the dash with a tachometer atop the steering column .. & that’s it. I guess you can say that it’s a “self-conscious” design; but if you think about it, Mini isn’t looking to please everyone. If you like it, then you’re going to like it. If you don’t like it then don’t sweat it.

I personally love the design on the inside and on the Mini Wheels – what about you?

Mykalanne has been working for OriginalWheels.com for a little over a year. She has been writing their blog & articles for a while; & to be quite frank, she really enjoys it. It gives her a chance to communicate with the customers & tell everyone what the company is really about.

Compact SUVs come calling

Small is in. That is probably the mantra being followed by most auto majors in the country. First it was just about small hatchback cars but it seems that the ‘small’ bug has bitten the SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) segment too! For now we are hearing of a number of ‘compact’ SUVs hitting the market soon. The news is that Mahindra and Mahindra has decided to come up with a new generation compact SUV. Industry insiders are speculating a five-seater compact SUV most probably priced between Rs 4-6 lakh by 2012. Other speculated specifications include a 1.2 litre petrol engine, less than four meters of length and a new monocoque platform to increase fuel efficient lower weight by 10-15 per cent. While the 1.5 litre would be made in-house talks about sourcing the petrol from Renault are on, claim sources. Industry sources say M&M will invest between Rs 400-500 crore in the compact SUV.

There are at least two other compact SUVs on the horizon by carmakers Toyota and Skoda. But none of the two seems to be as competitively priced as the one being designed by Mahindra. However, the Toyota Avanza that is expected to be positioned below the Toyota Innova and is likely to be a sort of mini Innova comes close. The car is already present in the Thailand market of the company and is being expected in India for a long time. There has been no official announcement but the MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) is expected to be priced between Rs 6 – 8 lakh with a 1495cc engine – also present in the Thailand model. This 1.5L petrol engine consists of 4 cylinders and DOHC 16 valve matted with VVTi technology. Lastly, we have Skoda Yetithat is also being hailed as a compact SUV but does not quite fit into the same segment and price tag as the above two. With a highly speculated (read unofficial) price tag of approximately Rs 12-15 lakh the Yeti is definitely falls in the high-end segment. The car is expected to have a 2.0L, 1968cc, Turbo Charged diesel engine with 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that produces maximum power of 110PS at 4200rpm with 250Nm of maximum torque at 1500-2500rpm. The 6-speed manual transmission gearbox in the 2.0L diesel engine type with advanced Haldex clutch is capable of producing 140PS of maximum power at 4200rpm with 320Nm of maximum torque at 1750-2500rpm.

SUV Types and Uses

One of the types of cars St Catharines auto sales dealers provide is SUVs. Midsized SUVs feature a balance of interior space, fuel economy, and engine power. Smaller SUVs offer better fuel economy, while bigger models have more space and towing capacity. An SUV is a good option because it provides versatile cargo-carrying space, more driver comfoty, and powerful towing capacity. An SUV also has greater passenger capacity compared to other types of vehicles

SUVs are classified into two kinds: car-based and truck-based. The car-based SUVs, also known as crossover vehicles, They have a unibody construction where the frame and body are combined in one piece. They have an independent suspension that offers better handling and considerable comfort.

Truck-based SUVs are created with greater cargo and towing capacity in mind. They are good for hauling cargo through rough off-road conditions like high rocks, steep inclines, and descents.

There are a couple of things you have to consider when looking for a good SUV. First, you have to buy an SUV for its capacity and not its size. Midsized SUVs feature three-row seating and moderate tow capacities, which may be more suitable for you than larger ones. These vehicles’ three-row seating can accommodate seven to eight people, and are recommended for families.

Small SUVs are almost like sedans with a sporty look. They offer more space and flexible cargo room, along with a more comfortable driving position than sedans.

They even have better fuel economy than some family sedans. If you’re the adventurous kind, you can go for a little SUV with off-road capabilities. A hatchback or wagon provides great fuel economy and is considerably cheaper. You can choose from reliable used cars for sale in St Catharines that suit your requirements and preference.

Compact, sporty SUVs are relatively smaller, but offer better handling, quieter cabins, and a nicer fit and finish compared to small SUVs. If you like a larger vehicle, a midsized SUV can make great family cars. They carry out well and their fantastic interior space and cargo room provides comfort and convenience. If your priority is cargo capacity, then a large SUV is the right automobile for you, since these are designed for such tasks.

Aside from the seating, cargo space, and towing capacity, SUVs in general offer reliable safety features. They are equipped with side air bags for the front and rear side windows. They have an electronic stability control (ESC) that automatically applies brakes to stop the car from losing traction. They also have rear backup alert systems that warn the driver when a parked automobile or signpost is nearby. You can find high-quality SUVs and cars for sale in St Catharines dealers residents recommend.

Audi’s baby SUV

Audi introduced its first SUV – the Q7 in 2006, it was based on the VW Group’s SUV platform shared with the VW Touran and Porsche Cayenne. The Success of the large SUV prompted Audi to introduce the Q5 which is based on the same platform as the VW Tiguan. Audi are now testing final versions of a mini crossover, the Audi Q3.

The Audi Q3 is in testing at the moment and many spy shots of it have been released on the internet, even though the test mule is heavily camouflaged you can still see the basic size and shape of the vehicle.

One of the noticeable design elements that are noticeable even in the heavy disguise is the steeply raked tailgate, suggesting the Audi Q3 will be more of a coupe crossover rather than a pure Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The latest model in Audi’s line up is due to be at an Audi dealer by the end of 2011; it will sit below the Q5 in the SUV segment.

The Q3 is 20cm shorter and 7cm narrower than the Q5, the Q3 is said to be around 4.4m long, 1.8m wide and 1.6m high.

The Q3 will feature three petrol engines — a 140bhp 1.4 litre, a 180bhp 1.8 litre and a 210bhp 2.0 litre — plus two diesels, with 140bhp and 170bhp. A 204bhp twin-turbo diesel is also in the pipeline.

SEAT which is also part of the VW Group has had to shelf its own plans for a similar model based on the VW Tiguan platform, ironically the new Q3 will be built at one of the Spanish plants where SEAT had planned to build its mini SUV.

What is a SUV?

If you want to know what is meant by SUV, then it is an abbreviation of the term Sports utility vehicle. This vehicle is called so due to the seating capacity, storage capacity as well as the engine capacity which is more that the other vehicles in the similar class. This four wheel drive car provides you with the offer the road capacity and therefore the SUV is popular in the rural areas where the conditions of the roads are not the same like cities. Other city cars may not be able to function properly in the rural areas where many times the roads are not paved. When the weather conditions are not favorable then in those times, the SUV offers you a better mode of transport.

The SUV is not only seats more people; it offers comfortable and spacious seating. It means that even if there are more people travelling in this car, it will not feel crowded or congested.

You may get a feeling that you are in a spacious room when you are travelling by this vehicle. It is most useful to carry large sports gear and other luggage as the boot capacity of the SUV is better compared to all the other vehicles. Therefore carrying extra luggage will not cramp the people sitting in the car. That is the reason that this is called as a sports utility vehicle because it can carry many players with their sports gear easily.

The SUV can also be called as a family car as it is similar to a station wagon and therefore it can accommodate more family members easily than a sedan car. It offers more interior space if you compare it with the others sedans of the same class. As it is a four wheel drive vehicles, it also provides better traction in situations where the roads are slippery due to weather.

We can say that a SUV is a combination of pickup truck and a minivan as it offers space like that of a minivan and it has the towing capacity of a pickup truck. So if you want a car which is best for the whole family, then it is the best option for you.

You’re probably thinking, everyone says that, so, what’s different here. It’s the commitment of quality, genuineness, and a guarantee that values your time and interest.

When compared with other vehicles ? is SUV car insurance really cheaper?

As you almost certainly know, several factors are used by insurance companies so they can determine insurance costs. Without doubt , the model and make of your car plays a huge role. And that makes sense. It would not be sensible if all vehicles require exactly the same amount of insurance cover.

Its common sense to think that sport and exotic cars are more expensive to insure. Bigger motors produce more hp and as far as your insurer is concerned, it means higher insurance premiums.

However, does this actually mean that bigger vehicles are generally more expensive to insure than small ones? The answer, believe it or not, is NO. Statistically, SUVs are less expensive to insure than most cars. You’re most likely wondering why?

Well, there are actually two main factors, both relevant to the kind of motorists who commonly own such vehicles.

SUVs are commonly family vehicles. It is only natural for parents who are driving their kids to school or football practice to be extra careful on the road. They tend not to drive during the night or in poor weather conditions. What this implies, not surprisingly, is that SUVs have better “accident history” than various other cars. Its more probable that a young motorist will cause a crash with a small and less powerful car, than a mother driving an SUV on her way to the supermarket.

Insurance providers pay a great deal of attention to these stats. If a certain make and model has a great accident history, than its owners will benefit from lower insurance costs.

Yet another reason why SUVs cost less to insure is safety. Just about all family vehicles are loaded with safety features, which is considered one of their main selling points.

A good arguing point here is that SUVs are not really the most ecologically friendly vehicles out there.

It won’t be a total surprise if in the very near future insurers start giving discount rates to “greener” cars. For now, having a SUV suggests that you have an even better chance of finding affordable car insurance.

Different SUV Sizes and Features

The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is one of the popular types of automobile that St Catharines car dealers offer. SUVs appeal to many people due to three reasons: First, this vehicle type has more space for both passengers and cargo. Second, SUVs grant vehicle owners a better driving position, which results to more comfortable road trips. And finally, SUVs provide have a bigger towing capacity as compared to the average car.

There are generally two kinds of SUVs: car-based and truck-based. The former is often referred to as crossover vehicle. Car-based SUVs have a unibody structure, which means that the body and frame are put together in one piece. Moreover, car-based SUVs offer better comfort and handling due to their independent suspension systems. The latter kind is designed to have a greater towing capacity and cargo space.

Truck-based SUVs are able to endure rough road conditions, such as steep descents and inclines and mountainous areas.

Customers should always put the vehicle’s abilities above size when canvassing for SUVs. Remember that size is not everything: A medium sized SUV can be better than a large one if the buyer is after moderate towing capacity. Customers should basically have a clear picture of they need from a SUV before purchasing one.

Medium-sized SUVs are best for families due to its passenger and cabin capacity. And, large SUVs are best for customers who prioritize a bigger interior space and greater towing capacity. Aside from medium and large sizes, SUVs also come in sizes known as little and compact.

Little SUVs look like sporty sedan models.

The only difference is: little SUVs provide a higher driving position and a flexible cargo space. Moreover, little SUVs have a better fuel economy than sedans. Used car St Catherines dealership facilities recommend this size of SUV to adventurous customers or those who love to drive in off-road conditions. Compact SUVs are even smaller than the previous size. The beauty of a compact-size SUV is it has more silent cabins and better handling.

Aside from space, comfort and towing capacity, SUVs are also popular due to its safety features. This vehicle type is equipped with a number of air bags; moreover, SUVs have an electronic stability control, which makes the automobile stop when it is sliding sideways. Furthermore, SUVs have a rear alert system which guides the driver as he parks backwards.
The Saturn Vue & the Vue Hub Caps that go on it are nice, wouldn’t you agree?

Before the whole bankruptcy thing happened with Saturn in 2009, the Vue was one of the company’s more engaging and delightful products. The Vue had debuted in 2002 as GM’s very first homegrown entry in the car-based small-SUV segment. There were solid sale numbers that were recorded .. but it never really was a “critical acclaim”. As the years went on, just like any other manufacturer, Saturn had slowly but surely made improvements and then eventually expanded the Vue lineup. They had accomplished this by adding the high-performance Red Line and hybrid Green Line variants.

Even though the Vue & Vue Hub Caps weren’t as “polished” as the other SUV’s that were on the market, the first – generation of the Vue had remained attractive because of the low price that it was offered at.

When it was rereleased in 2008, the second generation Vue was improved in a variety of areas – and you were able to tell.

These model Vue’s had shared their basic structure with the Antara (a car that was based out of GM’s Germany-based European division. There was an extraordinary improvement that was over its forebear. It was basically a car that was from Saturn, but with the look and the feel of a European-designed car.

The second-generation was similar in size to the first generation Vue. It also had an almost identical wheel base and marginally greater width and height. The only real thing that was pretty different was the construction of the exterior; the second generation had its exterior made up of steel body panels.

Even though the first generation Vue’s were made up of plastic ones to prevent dings, they looked pretty dingy and also made big panel gaps.

The interior in the second generation Vue was higher in quality and also had improved ergonomics – it was more comfortable than the first one.

When it was on sale, you were able to buy the car in three trim levels: base XE, midgrade XR and sporty Red Line. When it came to the XE model, there was a 2.4-liter inline-4 that produced 164 horsepower and 160 pound-feet of torque that came standard. All this was connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission. For the midgrade XR, there was a 3.6-liter V6 that was made to produce 257 hp and 248 lb-ft. The last model (Red Line) was only available with the 3.6-liter V6. There was a manual – shift feature that was a mandatory option for the Red Line.

If you compare it to the other SUV’s that are on the market, the Vue was pretty small since it only had 56 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity. This meant that it was almost 20 cubes less than some of its other key competitors. The passenger space in the car was good since it had a reclining rear seat that offered the passengers decent legroom. The comfort in the front seat was pretty good, too .. so I guess the car was pretty good to look at with its Vue Hub Caps and pretty comfortable to sit in with all the legroom that it offered.
